Passport Stamp Collecting

The best laid plans...

Sometimes when you set up something really cool, things don't quite go as planned. Such is the case with several missing Fly Washington Passport Program stamps. Perhaps a few people are taking the idea of "stamp collecting" a little too literally, absconding with the actual stamp instead of stamping their booklets. Or perhaps someone with a skewed sense of community and too much time on their hands succumbed to the urge to nab a stamp or two. Regardless, we find ourselves missing a few airport stamps needed for capturing the elusive (but attainable!) Fly Washington Passport Program jacket.

Picture this: you have done all the steps necessary--rousted your co-pilot from their weekend slumber, scratched the dog behind the ears, planned your route, checked the weather and airport conditions, looked up the stamp location, packed the passport booklet, fueled the tanks, preflighted the airplane, set up flight following, PIC'd to your heart's delight, executed the near-perfect landing, and made your way to the stamp's secret spot. You've done all this, only to discover the passport stamp is MISSING!

Now what?!!

Take a deep breath. You've got this! You just pulled off an amazing flight over some of the most beautiful territory in the country. Things are good. Now, read on for a few tips for handling this smallest of aviation hiccups...

3 Tips for When the
Airport Stamp Goes Missing

Smile big! Get a selfie with your passport in a way that clearly shows which airport you visited and the date. (Pro tip: write the airport name & date in your passport book, and include that in the selfie.) Wa-la! Airport achievement unlocked. Include that image when you send your passport book in for stamp validation.
Aviate, navigate, communicate! You still got that amazing flight in, right? Views like no other, and maybe you are already planning the route to your next stamp. You've aviated and navigated. Now's the time to communicate! Please drop us an email or post on the FWPP Facebook page and let us know the stamp was missing. We love to hear from you (stamp or no stamp!) and the only way we can get them replaced is if we know they are missing in the first place. Thanks for the assist!
Volunteer! Got a hankering to help out? We could occasionally use some extra hands. The Fly Washington Passport Program currently has several replacement stamps that need to be secured in their spots at airports around the state. Please drop us an email if you might be able to get a stamp put back where it belongs. Thank you!
