Fly Washington Passport Program Info for Pilots

Mission
The Fly Washington Passport Program encourages pilots and aviation enthusiasts to explore Washington’s public-use airports. Beyond motivating pilots to fly, this program supports general aviation airports, area businesses, tourism, and provides flight planning, safety, and educational opportunities. The program relies on the voluntary participation of Washington’s public-use airports, pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and sponsors. The ultimate objective for this program is to increase aviation economic activity and enhance general aviation visibility.
Participants, using an official Fly Washington Passport Program booklet, collect “passport stamps” at enrolled public-use airports. Any licensed pilot from any state, and their passengers, may participate. Participants will earn levels of recognition and prizes as they explore the airports of Washington State.

Due to the volunteer nature of this program and limited resources, some stamps may not be installed at airports yet. Please continue to check in for the latest information on stamp locations and participating airports, or call ahead to determine whether the stamp has been placed. If a stamp is missing, you may take a photo of yourself with the stamp box, your own stamp booklet and proof of the current date (for example, a piece of paper with the date written on it). If an airport has multiple stamps, one stamp is sufficient for that airport to count.

Passport Program Rules
- There is no deadline for completing the Fly Washington Passport Program program as long as the program remains in operation.
- No stamps/signatures may be made on any other document and later placed in the Fly Washington Passport Program booklet. However, if a stamp is missing, participants may take a photo of themselves with the stamp box, their own Fly Washington Passport Program booklet and proof of the current date (ex. piece of paper with the date written on it). If an airport has multiple stamps, one stamp is sufficient for that airport to count.
- Participants are highly encouraged to relay any issues regarding the Fly Washington Passport Program stamps and their locations to the Program Committee so that the stamps can be replaced if needed, and to help inform other participants traveling to that airport.
- “The Partnership” is not responsible if you lose or misplace your Fly Washington Passport Program booklet.
- Passport Booklets may be validated in person or mailed to: Fly Washington Passport Program, c/o Auburn Municipal Airport at 2143 E. St. NE, Suite 1, Auburn, WA 98002, or email tmensonides@auburnwa.gov to set up an appointment. Note which achievement level (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) and/or regional award (Olympic, Southwest, Northwest, North Central, South Central, Eastern) you are applying for in your passport booklet.
- Participants may apply for achievement level awards simultaneously. You may choose to send your booklet all at once, or after completing each region or level.
- Regional awards will be shipped to the recipient. Shipping may take up to 4 weeks for arrival. Top awards will be presented annually at the Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show in Puyallup.
- Award availability is solely dependent on sponsor donations.
- Airports may enroll or withdraw from the program with 30 days’ written notice to the Fly Washington Passport Committee. The most current list of participating airports will be available through the map on the Fly Washington Passport Program website.
- If a participant has collected a stamp/signature from an airport that later withdraws or is removed, the stamp/signature will still count toward achievement levels.
- Participants of the Fly Washington Passport Program participate at their own risk. Auburn Municipal Airport, City of Auburn, Washington Airport Management Association, Washington Pilots Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and WSDOT Aviation and associated aviation organizations who helped develop this program in no way encourage participants to visit an airport under conditions of which they do not have the appropriate skill level, aircraft or resources to do so safely. Airport information in this website, program documents and the Fly Washington Passport Program booklet is intended only as a general introduction to the airport. As with any flight operation, it is the pilot’s sole responsibility to familiarize him/herself with all aspects of a flight, including verifying any information contained in this document and in the Fly Washington Passport Program booklet. Each participant traveling to an airport must also determine if a given flight/airport is one that they have the skills needed to make the flight, landing/arrival safely. By participating in the Fly Washington Passport Program, each participant agrees to not hold any sponsor or associated organization responsible or liable for any kind of mishaps, damages, accidents, injuries or death.
