Passport Program Fall Food Drive Results
From October 23 - November 20, fifteen airports across the state volunteered to be collection centers for the first ever Fly Washington Passport Program Fall Food Drive and to donate their proceeds to local food banks in their communities.
Pilots and airport tenants from across the stated and region came together in support of the drive with an outpouring of support and donations. Over 1,400 pounds of food was donated by airports and participants. The donations went to benefit fifteen different food banks in communities across the state. Orcas Island Airport took the top spot for most donations with 445 pounds of food donated with Harvey Field coming in second with 298 pounds of food, 19 pounds of diapers and $900! Elizabeth Grant, Snohomish Community Food Bank Executive Director, expressed, “So grateful for all of our donations from our generous pilots!” We are very grateful to all the airports, pilots, tenants from around the state who participated in the fall food drive and we are looking forward to next year! |
